Cross The Line - John Legend

Fellas, if you ever wanted to take it to the next level with a chick and move past the "we're just friends" stage, but you didn't know how to say it...... this is the song you need to play and I guarantee you, she'll say "Yes". Behind this up tempo beat is a message that's comparatively the same as Young Money's "Every Girl". Yea..... John Legend's an on the low freak! But you would never guessed it because of his compassion for the female and choosing to not simple say "Let's be friends with benefits" but his "homegirl he can take home, girl". Lyrics aren't as romantic and thought provoking like they used to be because everything is so blunt and straight forward! The great thing and difference from this song and Young Money's so is at lease John Legend wants to take the girl home and keep her, not bang bang bang and she got to leave in a few minutes. At lease she can stay hell! Overall, this is a beautiful song from a man with a beautiful voice who's looking for some cut from his best friend. Fellas, try it and if it doesn't work out, she's just not into you!

The Dream - Nikki - Abyss

Known as one of the biggest names in music producing and song writing, The Dream earned a spot as one of my favorite artists because of staying true to his music and expressing himself throughly whether you like it or not. Before he was a front running artist, he penned multiple singles for Rhianna and Beyonce, to name a few and was heavily demanded as a producer. This week, I'm ending with my favorite music artist who don't get enough shine and credit, but are the reason some of the more mainstream artists are popping the way they are now!

Drownnnnn Bitch Drown! Is basically what artist The Dream is saying to his lover who betrayed him with some other man after she promised that she was all his! LIES! I wonder was his talking about his ex wife who went and cheated and got knocked up by that gremlin we call Lil Wayne (True Story)... More than likely so! SMDH! Anyway, I love this song because it's so relatable and raw! This song is for anyone who was deceived by lust thinking it was love and it turned out that that muthafucka was the devil in diguise. Sometimes you do want to just hurt them just as bad as they hurt you and "chain their heart to the bottom of the lake", I know I wanted to do it too! Also, the beat to this song is so orgasmic you would think this was a love song, but oh no no no, it ain't! And I'm a big fan of bass in my trunk and the bass to this song is like surround sound! Simply put.... The Dream killed that, but it's The Dream, he's supposed to!

Future- "Magic"

Oh My Goodness yall! OK remember how I posted about a entertainment group named Dormtainment and the video they made about rappers rapping real lazy and their "flow needs Viagra cause it can't get up"?! Yea, well low and behold, just last week during the Thanksgiving holiday this song comes on the radio as I'm driving back to school. At first it kind of stumped me because I was like "Now, I know I heard this beat from somewhere!" Then, when the song got to the chorus part, I was like "Yep, I know exactly where that comes from!". Talk about LMAOing, I just couldn't believe it!

Because of Dormtainment, I couldn't take this song serious at all. The fact that everything about this song is the exact rhythm and flow of the parody song kills me. The fact that this dude name is Future, but committing murder to Hip Hop music is killing me. The type of fuckery that rappers come out with now and have the decency to call it "art" or a "craft" kills me. Haaahhhhhh, I mourn for our generation when it comes to music. Matter of fact, let's say a pray!

Dear Baby Jesus, please save what's left of Hip Hop sanity and preserve it for someone who won't get blindsided from the gimmick insanity. Please help this Future did realize he is a one hit wonder and his career ends with this song! In Baby Jesus' name I pray, Amen!

And on that note, I'm out!

Smooth Criminal

Personally, this video is just sexy! MJ was just so damn "smooth" in this video with that crisp ass white suit on. I was like Mike you better work on them boys! I love how he commands the spotlight and attention when he performs, but then again you can't help but watch so closely because you're afraid you might miss something. The dance moves was super sick! He's always made it his duty to be sharp and intricate with his choreography and it really is hard to imitate him. Trust me I tried! Few can do some justice-- by far Chris Brown is the closet-- but no one can really do Michael better than Michael. As far as the single itself, his vocals in Smooth Criminal is like a cross between some kinda rock, pop, mix and it just works. When listening to an MJ track, unless you have that creative thinking like him, it's hard to understand the reasons why he does what he does, but you can't help but love it. Being that I ain't all that creative, I'll just appreciate the good music and keep it moving! RIP MJ.

Michael Jackson's Black or White

One thing I always loved about Michael is his compassion towards humanity and staying true to his beliefs, whether the world thought he was weird and crazy because of them. I admired how he never took the words "no" or "can't" as an options and because he wasn't submissive and held behind boundaries, the world was able to see his music in a broader spectrum. On a lighter note, this is my favorite game on the Michael Jackson experience (I hold the top record... I dare you to challenge me). But MJ wasn't no joke either! In my opinion, dude was not dancing.... He was exercising because at the end of every song, I was sweating profusely! If every child played his game everyday, there wouldn't be obesity. I'm telling you, the MJ experience game is the cure! Speaking on the video, at the end I always thought I was one of the people doing the "It's black, It's white..... Yeah Yeah Yeah!" I'm sure some of you done it too. This is just a fun song, but with a deep message.

Michael Jackson is immortal!

Over the weekend, I couldn't stop playing Michael Jackson's greatest hits. Which in my opinion, every song is a hit if it's MJ's. Anyway, this week will be dedicated to him in honor of being a bad ass in pop culture and an all round entertainer of my lifetime or in other words... my favorite MJ songs! So to jump things off, my number one song from the King of Pop is "They don't care about us". Besides this ticking military beat that makes you want to dance like the master himself (I can never not do the shoulder bounce he does), the words speak on some real shit! World oppression, police brutality, and the justice system just to name a few was brought to life through this video and it's trifling how these same issues MJ was talking about damn near 21+ years ago, still exists today. IDGAF what anybody says.... racism is still live and well, but that's a whole different story for a different time. It's always sad to see such a great entertainer go because it seems so surreal, but like I've been told a time or two... the art will always out live the artist. Enjoy!

@Dormtainment - #RapRealLazy

I honestly have no words for this post, but I think it's hilarious how they imitate Rappers in the South; more specifically Atlanta. What's funny is that I would rather hear them make jokes about the rappers than the rappers on a song! Once again, Dormtainment has keep me from falling asleep on the job!
